       * How to film germinating powdery mildew conidia?
       * Online tools to investigate plant gene expression to powdery mildew infection

       * light microscopy of the morphology of powdery mildew conidia, conidiophores, hyphal
         appressoria, haustoria, chasmothecia, and asci and ascospores
               * conidial germination tests on different substrates
               * ascospore viability tests using fluorescence microscopy
               * rehydration of powdery mildew herbarium specimens for morphological studies
       * DNA extraction from low quantities of fresh and herbarium powdery mildew
         materials using different methods
               * PCR amplification of a number of loci from powdery mildews
               * quantification of the powdery mildew infection levels using classical and qPCR
               methods
